Spring has sprung..well some days at least...today we are still seeing the white winter wonderland that is Calgary in the spring...

But for most people and for the inside of our house at least... spring has sprung and that means cleaning out the cobwebs and getting rid of the piles of stuff that has accumulated throughout the long winter months.  It means planting seeds and raking up the yard to get things ready for new growth and fresh starts.

Some of our yearly spring traditions are:

Spring Clean:

Dusting, cleaning up the inside, outside and even under the kitchen appliances...You may be surprised what you can find under the fridge and oven..especially if you have kids...lol

Garden Clean up:

Get that garden or flower bed ready by getting rid of old growth and winter leaves and sticks.  Turn the soil and fertilise.

Closet Clean up:

Go through all the clothing especially the kids and get rid of anything that doesn't fit or has holes or stains. We pack up the youngest too small but keep able clothing and pass the rest to the next kid.  Lots of hand me downs happening with six kids!

Also don't forget about the medicine cabinets..Now is the perfect time to check the expiry dates on all medicines and even sunscreens and other products.  Properly dispose of these products by checking out MakeTheDrop.ca to find an Orange Drop location near you to safely dispose of expired medication Then you can stock up again.

Get back on the Exercise track:

Spring alsways seems to be the time when your energy comes back and you get the urge to shed those extra pounds and get ready for swimsuit season which is coming faster then you think..at least we can hope.  Jump on that motivation and start a new exercise routine get out and enjoy the sunshine.

But for some members of my family it also means sniffly noses and red itchy eyes...thats right Spring brings with it seasonal alergies.  But we are lucky to have our trusted helpers Claritin to help us fight off the itch and sniffiles.
